I have previously admitted to having a touch of paranoia, but I am not crazy. Something is going on. We are experiencing the most unusual weather patterns in hundreds of years and there is no dialogue. None, nada, zip. While the weather reporters dutifully tell us how bad it is going to be and how many records have been broken there is no dialogue about why. Why is the ice cap melting? Why have recent temperatures broken all records? Why has there been more and less rain than over 100 years? You would think that we would be inundated with opinions and analysis, but what we are hearing is deafening silence.
Ok, you and the Republicans do not believe in global warning and that carbon omissions are not affecting the ozone layer. That is a debatable point, but where is the discussion? Why aren’t the experts openly disagreeing with their charts and graphs that we don’t understand? I want to understand both points of view but they aren’t talking. Could it be that the coal, oil and gas industries are so powerful that they have stifled debate? Every media outlet searches for a subject that is relevant that they can achieve market share and nothing is more relevant to everyone than unusual weather. This is where my paranoia kicks in and I suspect a conspiracy. Why aren’t they telling me why it has been 100 degrees or more for over two weeks? Why has the flooding been unprecedented and why is the ice melting at the North Pole? They may disagree, but I cannot form an opinion until I hear them.
This subject is of sufficient importance that it can determine how we live and not just in the suburbs of Washington, but throughout the world. Something is up, or is it just my paranoia kicking in?
