8/7/2012 9:17:16 AMSeveral weeks ago, I authored an article titled PARANOIA AGAIN to which I have received a number of responses on my Facebook page. Many of the responders miss the point of the article offering opinions on the cause of the unusual weather patterns. I respect the contrasting responses ranging from global warning to Biblical predictions each of which is a rational point of view. With limited justification, I lean towards science that the weather deviations are caused by human emissions, but I humbly accept the limitations of my knowledge and defer to scientists to provide conclusions.
The post was intended to chide the American public for their acquiescence to the silence surrounding what are clearly life changing weather patterns. From the arctic ice melt to frequent storms and draughts, something unusual is happening and one would think that the public would demand answers. It is a story crying to be told and I suspect that the oil, gas and coal industries have intimidated the media into putting a lid on the debate.
Compared to the mass murders in Colorado and Wisconsin, the potential carnage from nature will bring many times the number of victims involved, yet we were inundated with details about the mass shootings while having zero debate about the cause of the weather changes. Something is going on in our universe and we are reacting as though we were spectators. This is our planet and we each have an interest in its habitation. No matter what you believe is the cause of the unusual weather patterns, we owe it to ourselves and those who follow a serious discussion that goes beyond the prediction for tomorrow’s temperature.
